你的"科普读物"可以往初中挺进了,内容可以涉及到国家地理, 天文, 体育, 历史背景,科技, 记实频道等等.
英语学习不要被因试所困惑, 要看得远点.  二条腿走路, "一颗红心,二种准备".

   Walruses spend most of their life in icy seas. The air sacs in their throat will let their head stay above the water and keep on breathing . However, they also enjoy sunbathing on the beach.
   Walruses are meat-eaters. They eat mostly clams , worms, and other animals. If they are very hungry, they will even eat seals.

Snowy Owl

      Snowy owls are almost all white with just a few dark spots .  Males are whiter than females. They are most active during the day.
    Unlike other birds. whose eyes are on the sides of their head , owls have large eyes that face forwards. Snowy owls have yellow eyes and very good vision , but they cannot move their eyes as humans can . So in order to look around, they have to move their head , which has large of movement of about 270 degree.

楼主，是不是要等三星笔试拿下才能入圈，女儿感觉有些难，望指教为盼（不注水）！.

我认为 科普读物比那个"不实用"的三星笔试更有价值.   如果时间有的多, 并不矛盾.  
一个是应试成分多点, 一个科普知识多点.   前者临时博一下靠妈妈(考好统统忘记), 后者长期积累靠爸爸(还可以记得点).  所以后者是你的责任区.  
其实上父亲在科普知识面上的兴趣辅导对小孩将来很管用的.  前面些书籍3年级下完全有能力阅读了, 我发觉复赛20-30%的题目多可能在这些范围内出现(自己的感觉).  我自己还找到其它一些资料想给孩子阅读和解释, 可惜我们时间根本不够.  目前也很是无奈!
如有不困惑,见面时还可以讨论.

我真的觉得现在如果父母不识字，小孩也可以不要读书了。读点书，大人怎么就那么累呢~~~~~.

小孩如何知道培训班和地点在哪儿? 不是家长去搜来再送她们去读的吗?  所以家长对孩子起了关键作用, 我们在中国就是一个"累"字..

这次考试环境感觉不好？很多家长都站在教室旁说话，而且声音挺大，小孩都没有心事答题了，不知这次七外的孩子们考的怎样？.

这次复赛,全区2-3年级要比4-5年级考得好..

4，5年级赛事繁忙，分身乏术。不过也看到4年级的超人，样样来三，佩服佩服.

这次决赛进9位,对于我校是第一次. ( 低,7 / 高,2 ).  特表扬2年级小朋友!
具体: 3(1) 一名, 3(2) 1 名, 3(3) 1名, 3(4) 1 名, 二年级 3 名,  4(2)1 名,  4(4) 1 名.

我发觉这次复赛中考的SIM CITY GAME 在楼上152 贴中也涉及到, 还有就是前面提到的动物篇经常性考到(refer 163# ) .
在这里加一本给孩子们读,了解一下电玩游戏乐趣.  如果孩子玩过香港海洋公园或迪斯尼,那体会就更深的.

为增加孩子们对世界珍稀动物的了解和兴趣, 我曾在99 帖推荐< Going On Safari >  读本.  最近又看见网友在肯尼亚的国家野生动物公园拍了非常漂亮的PP .  我还是上传给小朋友们看看.  真是太激动人心 !   
当然这也是我儿子的梦想, 将来可以有2-3个志趣相同的家庭同去.
