2017跨洋寒假兴趣班报名了！

各位家长与同学，在2016年寒暑假班的基础上，瑞藤教育的美国教师们经过精心设计与创新，即日起正式推出2017年寒假英语兴趣班：共计8种课程、18个小班所有课程均为8次90分钟的课，共计12小时。每个小班1-2名学生以保证每个学生能获得老师足够的重视和互动时间。开课的美国认证教师都是瑞藤目前广受欢迎的教师们。他们的教育热情、对孩子的耐心和丰富的经验都会带领学生们进入一个令人难忘的英语世界。

About the Lessons:
Studentswill read the text and answer a writing prompt as homework prior to eachmeeting. During our live sessions, we will review the homework reading andwriting prompt, answer comprehension questions, work on text-relatedvocabulary, and engage in fun activities related to the text. Lessons aredesigned to improve reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary building. Wewill also discuss literary devices used in the book inorder to improve comprehension and critical thinking skills. Students can chooseone of two books based on their interest and reading level- Alice in Wonderland or The Giver.

About the Lessons:
Students will be exploringReading, Writing, and Study Skills. We will be reading about Joey and the SadTree, A story about Old England, and the Story of Esther, and each of thesewill have Study Skills. Student will be expected to read the story aloud andthen discuss the reading. This course has study work, quizzes and tests. Someproject may be added if time allows. Everything is done in class on a powerpoint presentation, using the tools provided in the Zoom course room.

About the Lessons:
In Denmark in 1943, the lives of all Jews are in jeopardy. Ten-year-oldAnnemarie's best friend, Ellen, is Jewish. Annemarie's family undertakes thedangerous mission of smuggling Ellen and her family to Sweden aboard thefishing boat that belongs to Annemarie's uncle. But when Anemarie's mother isinjured, and the special package that was to be delivered to Annemarie's uncleon the fishing boat is found beside the porch, it is up to Annemarie to deliverthe package safely. Along the way, she must contend with German soldiers, aswell as her own fear.

This novel includes teaching the students lessons for vocabulary words, comprehension, comma rules, punctuation, conjunctions, mild interjections, and figurative language (similes and metaphors, personification, idioms, adages and proverbs).

The student will take vocabulary quizzes, chapter quizzes and will do an activity for each class. These activities consist of, compare and contrast, problems and solving, tone and mood, timeline, and summary. If we don’t have enough time to finish, the student can do the activity for homework.

About the Lessons:
Students will read books in the Flat Stanley’s Worldwide Adventures series. The seriesconsist of 12 books in which Flat Stanley visits sites around the world, whilehe solves mysteries. Students will readthe books to follow Flat Stanley’s journeys around the world. We will visitwebsites to learn more about the places Flat Stanley visits, and write a traveljournal using information that we learned on our journeys with FlatStanley.

Studentswill read the books of theirchoice in The Magic Tree House Series which consists of books 1-28, inwhich Morgan Le Fay sends Jack and Annie, two normal children from Frog Creek,Pennsylvania, on numerous adventures and missions with a magical tree house inorder to help free Morgan from a spell, you will help solve four ancientriddles to become Master Librarians, and save four ancient stories from beinglost forever. We will read books, visit their website and play games. Thisis your Reading Passport to Adventure! Read the Magic Tree House books and FactTrackers, and then answer the trivia questions to earn passport stamps on theirwebsite.

It’s designed to give students experience with a variety of key Englishwriting skills. The program will include topics such as writing sentences and paragraphs,the writing process, formal and informal language, and academicwriting.Students will receive detailed feedback on writing assignments. Inaddition, students will be introduced to new vocabulary and have an opportunityto practice spoken English and pronunciation.

Johnson妈妈：今天是暑假班第一本书《Matilda》的最后一节课，这8次课下来，我感到儿子有进步，话开始多了。Karen老师也引导得好，请转告一下Karen,十分感谢她。周五是新的一期暑假班《Charlotte's Web》，我们会继续努力的。
