Doing the math, that means there are 292,201,338 different combinations of numbers you could pick. 作者: pp_dream 时间: 2016-1-13 04:06
At $2 a pop, you'd need almost $590 million to buy every ticket combination, which would bring you a tidy little profit approaching $1 billion in the current scenario. But finding the money would't be the hard part — the logistics of buying 292 million lottery tickets would. 作者: pp_dream 时间: 2016-1-13 04:07
With a lottery ticket machine running constantly, it would take nearly a decade to print all of those tickets, assuming a print rate of one ticket every second. There's just a few dozen hours before the drawing (and some states cut off ticket purchases hours before). Even if you had 10 machines going at the same time, it would still take a year of printing.
One of three winners of the $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot won with a ticket given to her as a gift by her employer — businessman and philanthropist Shlomo Rechnitz, according to Rechnitz spokesman Joshua Nass.
The apparent winner, who has not yet been publically identified, is reportedly an employee of Park Avenue Healthcare & Wellness Center in Pomona. The manager of the nursing facility was not immediately available for comment. Rechnitz has not yet responded to a phone call or text message from the Journal.
On Tuesday, Nass said, Rechnitz bought just under 18,000 Powerball tickets (at $2 each), giving one to each of his employees and residents.
Fox26 News reported on an employer who generously bought 15,000 lottery tickets for employees and residents at 80 healthcare facilities prior to Wednesday's drawing for the $1.5 billion Powerball drawing.
Well one of those tickets turned out to be a winner in the Southern California community of Chino Hills!
There were three winners of the Powerball drawing, so that record setting payout will be split three ways.
The company has confirmed the winner is a nurse at one of their facilities but would not confirm which facility or the identity of the employee.
