Writer/director/producer
Richard Trombly is from the United States where he attended the University of Massachusetts and studied film, theater and literature. He has worked as an educator at the high school and college level and was a business journalist and editor for national-level publications. He arrived in China in 2003, originally working as an editor for the Shanghai Daily newspaper and since that time has returned to his interests in film and stage. He has appeared in CCTV television shows, TV advertisements, and several movies including THE WHITE COUNTESS, MARCO POLO, THE PAINTED VEIL, MILK and FASHION and others. He has written and directed several short films that including 2006 Shanghai MEIWENTI Productions Short Film Contest award winning film “Outsiders” and is a professional scriptwriter. He is a founding member of the East West Theater Company, Shanghai's only locally based English language theater company and performed in several shows put on by the troupe. He also is a member of Acting UP!, an improvisation group, performing monthly improv shows and staged dramatic readings.

Chris Amadeus Hsu is from China where she’s attending Shanghai Normal
University and studying administration and management. She’s studying how
to make film also as a secondary major. She’s still a bit green in film
area; she’s produced an MTV in 10 hours to finish the homework. When she
was in her high school in grade one, she wrote and directed and played a
role in her own script, that’s a story about bad student in school. In
grade two, she directed ‘Hong Men Banquet’. Later, she directed the novel
‘The Medicine’ which is written by Luxun. She worked with her classmates
and all that is supported by her teachers. She’s a member of Acting UP!
And now she’s trying her best to enter director department of Beijing Film
Academy as a graduate student next year.

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Maxim Beatty lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan for 5 years producing several film projects with the teen idol Ai Kawashima at Tsubasa Records before moving to Shanghai in 2006. In Shanghai he co-founded Yubi Digital Co. Ltd. with Lucie, a fellow Sydney University Masters of Film and Digital Image alumni. Yubi Digital has completed many projects in Shanghai for clients that include Omron, Dunlop, the State Grid Corporation and the Baoshan District Government. Maxim has also directed and produced many short films for local and international film festivals in Sydney, Tokyo and Shanghai.

Wang – lead actor
Jin Xiangkang has acted in various short films and is currently in filming on the film project XXX with Italian Director Gianpaulo Lupori. He has also acted regularly in Cosplay staged events and various promotions including re-enacting a scene from the film “Mission Impossible 3” for Xitang Tourist Bureau.
Mother – supporting actress
Yao Huatao is a member of East/West Theater, a locally-based drama troupe and has participated in ActingUP! Improvisation and acting events.
Yuyu - Lead Actor
UNCAST ROLE ----- Yuyu is a very sweet young boy 7-8 years old. He is very creative and smart but he is a dreamer. His imagination is very active and he is very active and playful. He has been deeply hurt by the loss of his mother but his connection to Peipei has allowed him to continue on. He is very, very close to his Daddy and wants his attention. This is a very lovable boy, though he can never pay attention in school and would rather dream of planes and space and fish and other boyish dreams.
Peipei – Lead Actress
UNCAST ROLE ---- Peipei is a lovely young girl 10-12 years old. She is however a sad and quiet girl since her mother died. She took all her grief inside after the tragedy, too devastated to cry and release her feelings. She holds all those feelings inside. She has taken on the adult role of caring for her brother and herself since her father’s job takes him away from the family for so much time. She loves her brother and acts like his mother sometimes, but siblings always quarrel and she is no different. She sometimes teases her brother, but in the end, she is loving and supportive. It is like she carries the weight of the world on her shoulders… sometimes, she runs the family and takes on so much responsibility.
